Princess Marie, the Danish Princess opened the brand new LEGO Flagship store on 5th Avenue in Manhattan, New York. The store is located just across the street from the iconic Flat Iron Building.
It was meant to open in August but it opened on September 26th. The store is decked out with 3D LEGO murals replicating iconic City scenes and a Miniland model of NYC. There is also an 8 foot statue of liberty hand with torch. Brickley the Dragon, the Flagship store’s mascot also makes an appearance with his long body winding around the store.
Of course there is a pick a brick wall but I’m not sure if it is as big as the one at the Rockefeller Centre. The store is really big with a total floor space of 3,535 square feet! There is also a LEGO lounge with LEGO children’s books, a LEGO building Carpet, free charging stations and over-sized couches for families to relax on.
The Grand Opening will take place on October 10th – 13th, where there will be free gifts every day and you can help build a 20 foot statue of liberty out of bricks.
There will also be promotional bricks given out each week after the grand opening to collect.
I my opinion this store looks great and I cannot wait to visit it when I visit New York in October! Like I said before, I won’t be there for the grand opening but I will check out the store and hopefully get one of the promotional bricks.
